An\u00a0<strong>open-air gallery<\/strong>\u00a0exhibits its works along the path to the lake and around the lake. There is a 3-kilometer-long\u00a0<strong>Ecology educational trail\u00a0<\/strong>running around the lake, offering many interesting information boards. There is also a children\u2019s playground by the lake, and the\u00a0<strong>information centre<\/strong>\u00a0that rents various family games, Nordic walking poles and binoculars for bird watching.<\/p>\n<h2>The Lake<\/h2>\n<p>South of \u017dalec, by the Savinja River, there is a strip of protected nature in midst of which there is the Lake Vrbje. It measures just over 13 hectares and is\u00a0<strong>the largest body of water<\/strong>\u00a0in the Lower Savinja Valley. Carps are bred in the lake, and more than\u00a0<strong>130 bird species<\/strong>\u00a0live in the area. On the shores, a whole\u00a0<strong>variety of plants<\/strong>\u00a0is found, many of them edible or healing.<\/p>\n<h2>Vrbje Ecology Educational Trail<\/h2>\n<p>The educational trail runs around the lake and is\u00a0<strong>3 kilometres long<\/strong>. The signs with a head of a crested grebe distinctively mark the course of the trail, whereas interesting\u00a0<strong>information boards<\/strong>\u00a0present the basic characteristics of the area. The trail leads through the area between the rivers of Savinja and Struga, where some genuine natural habitats were preserved that are very rare or gone in the rest of the valley.
